Taara by X: Illustrating complex tech and making the invisible visible
Taara just graduated from Google X, The Moonshot Factory, and are on a mission to provide high-speed internet connectivity using beams of light.
In collaboration with branding studio Nimble, I created visuals and animations that demonstrated Taara’s key innovations, taking their highly complex technology and making it visually understandable for everyone. How do you visualize something as intangible as light, while capturing its energy and potential? Each piece was designed to balance technical precision with a sense of wonder and minimalism, partly setting up a foundation for their brand identity.

In the same way traditional fiber uses light to carry data through cables in the ground, Taara uses light to transmit information as very narrow, invisible beams. This beam is sent between two small Taara terminals to deliver high-speed, high-capacity connectivity over long distances.
